A recognized technology leader known for crafting the requisite strategic vision to achieve business goals, Larry Brashear offers a unique blend of business acumen, global team-building, and IT solutions development with strong ROI and operational improvement.


As Director of Business Information and Security Officer at Mental Health Cooperative, Larry fostered a responsive IT department that consistently delivered results by aligning technology initiatives with business goals, with substantial improvement to service delivery, standardization, and business/systems performance.


With a reputation for judicious use of resources – and resulting cost containment – Larry’s work has proven instrumental in providing employers with leading service, database, and management reporting capabilities critical to the success of production systems and company performance. In addition, he has effectively elevated Information Services’ visibility within the organization by bringing technology decisions and issues to the forefront of crucial executive committee discussions.


At Mental Health Cooperative, one of Larry’s most significant achievements was the roll-out of their electronic medical record (EMR). The EMR and business solution resolved use of outdated applications requiring extensive rework, and created a fully integrated system capable of supporting a one customer approach.


With a focus on strategic solutions analysis to further business goals, he also shepherded business process improvements that brought a new perspective on the relative success of business management practices and capital expenditures. 


Larry’s career, in addition to his military tenure, included leadership roles at First Data Merchant Services, where he quickly rose through positions including Network Administrator, Senior Business Analyst and Manager of Product Certification and Client Support. In these roles, he lead in business analysis, requirements gathering, product design, business process improvement and complex system implementation and application development projects.


Currently, he is employed at SpecialtyCare, Inc. a leading partner in providing clinical services at hospital Operating Rooms (OR) around the world in Minimally Invasive Surgical Support, Neurological Monitoring, Perfusion, Auto-transfusion, Surgical Assist and Sterile Processing Services. Here, like with previous employers, Larry is quickly recognized as a leader and promoted. During his first year he found himself responsible, in part, for the design, UI experience and end user supports for the case entry system. Project lead on an inaugural product complaint and cost management system. Most recently, he has championed a Salesforce.com implementation and adoption, facilitated sales pipeline and operational reporting, managing KPI reporting, published market share analysis on a national scale, and managing their business development and marketing analytics. 


Larry earned his retirement from the United States Army after a career of serving honorably around the globe, and earned the respect of his employers, peers, and direct reports alike. He maintains membership in Nashville Technology Council, Consultants Network, Nashville's Salesforce Users Group, and Healthcare IT World.
